Rhodesia coins - Southern Rhodesia Silver Crown, coin was issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Cecil Rhodes 1853-1953.

Obverse: Obverse: Head of Queen Elizabeth the Second.
Reverse: Cameo of Cecil Rhodes flanked by springs and ribbons and three shields.

Obverse Designer - Mary Gillick, Reverse Designer - T.H. Paget.

The edge has the words "1853 OUT OF VISION CAME REALITY 1953" inscribed. 124,000 were produced, as well as an additional 1,500 in proof.
The coin is 38.5mm in diameter, weighs 28.28 grams and is 50% silver, giving it an ASW (Actual Silver Weight) of 0.4546 troy ounces.
