Obverse: Contains the Kingdom's emblem, at the centre, with the value of the note (in words) beneath it. At the top appears the name of SAMA and the number and date of the Royal Decree and the name of King Faisal. Below that is the undertaking to pay the value of the note, with the signatures at the bottom. To the left appears an interior view of the Holy Mosque of the Prophet (at Medina) with the dome and a minaret. The value of the note in figures and the serial number are given in opposite comers.
Reverse: Contains a natural scene with palm trees, above it is the name of SAMA and under it is the value of the note both in English, at the left side of the Kingdom's emblem.
On the right side of the note is the water mark.
By virtue of Royal Decree No. 6, of 1379 A.H., the 100, 50, 10, 5 and 1 riyal notes were issued and put into circulation on 1379 A.H. (1968 A.D.). They were withdrawn from circulation 1400 A.H., and they could be exchanged only at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and its branches.

L. AH1379 - ND (1968) Issue
By virtue of Royal Decree No. 6, of 11 71 1379 A.H., the 100, 50, 10, 5 and 1 riyal notes were issued and put into circulation on 151 1 11 1379 A.H. (131 31 1968 A.D.). They were withdrawn from circulation I on 1.7,1400 H., and they could be exchanged only at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and its branches.
