Unissued design with dragon above Great Wall and portrait of a Manchu prince to left, unsigned remainder without seals and serial number. This design was created by two Americans, Hatch and Grant, who had been hired by the Chinese government to set up the Chinese Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Peking. This design and the horsemen in the desert design were not used at that time, but when the Japanese occupied China in the 1930's, they found the designs in the files and decided to use them for notes of the Federal Reserve Bank of China.
