Confederate States of America Currency 1861 $5 Dollar Bill from Richmond T-36.
Description: This $5 Confederate note shows a Commerce seated on bale of cotton in the center and a sailor in the lower left corner. This note was printed with black ink on either blank or watermarked paper. There is no design on the back. There is also a variety by Hoyer & Ludwig. The total issue of both types was 3,694,896.
Inscriptions: "Six Months after the Ratification of a Treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States, The Confederate States of America will pay Five Dollars to bearer/ Richmond, VA September 2, 1861/ Receivable in Payment of all dues except Export Dues/ Refundable in Confederate States Stock bearing Eight per cent Interest/ J.T. Paterson & Co. Columbia, SC"
