Description:  This $100 Confederate note shows a railroad train in center with straight white steam issuing from locomotive and along the left side of the note is standing woman holding a basket on her head representing a milkmaid. Hoyer & Ludwig earlier used this train design on a Confederate bond, Act of August 19, 1861. Situated in Richmond, they sold out in 1862, so the bulk of this type was printed by J.T. Peterson in Columbia, S.C. Written dates of May 5 to May 9, 1862. 17 varieties with plate letters (A, Aa to Ah) On the back of this Confederate Money are three interest paid stamps.

Inscriptions: "Six Months after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States the Confederate States of America will pay One Hundred Dollars to bearer with interest at two cents per day/ Richmond June 20, 1862/ Receivable in payment of all dues except export duties/ J T Paterson, Columbia SC"


Confederate Currency 1862 $100 T-39. No. 25461. Plate Ab. PF-16. A crisp Train note issued in August of 1862 by Nathaniel O. Tilton, Captain and Asst. Quartermaster. Tilton was in the 25th Regiment of the Georgia Infantry. Subsequently this note has an interest paid stamp from Savannah and two from Macon.
