Obverse: Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a snake (Coat of arms of Mexico) at center, Steam frigate at left and Allegory of Agriculture at right. In the top, the issuer name "EL BANCO DEL ESTADO DE MÉXICO".
Reverse: In the center, vignette of a steam passenger train, on each side the denomination value "100" within a guilloche, on each side of Railway vignette the issuer name "EL BANCO DEL ESTADO DE MÉXICO".
