Saudi Arabia Banknotes 1 Riyal Note 2012
The banknote of one riyal, fifth issue, has been released in the era of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.
The front side: The center features the front side of the first Islamic coin, at the center of which was inscribed "لا اله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له " which means there is no god but Allah alone with no partner or associate, and on the margin "محمد رسول الله أرسله بالهدى و دين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله" Which means Mohammad is the messenger of Allah, He sent him with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion. On the top of it, appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the number and date of the Royal Decree pursuant to which it was issued, and the name of King Abdullah in Arabic. To the right of the banknote a picture represents King Abdullah and the serial number. Under the picture, the value of the banknote is printed in Arabic. To the left, the watermark and foil strip are shown. At the bottom, the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA are printed.
The back side: A picture features the building of the headquarter of SAMA. On the top, appear the name of "Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency" and the value of the banknote in English. At the bottom to the right side of the bank note, the value of the banknote is printed in English and the emblem of the kingdom is shown.

The Fifth Issue
The fifth issue of Saudi Banknotes which was printed in the era of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The 100 and 50 riyals denominations were released on Monday 4/5/1428 A.H. corresponding to 21/5/2008, followed by releasing the 10 and 5 riyals denominations on Monday 2/7/1428 A.H. corresponding to 16/7/2007. The five-hundred and one riyal denominations were released on Monday 5/9/1428 A.H. corresponding to 17/9/2007 and Monday 21/12/1428 A.H. corresponding to 31/12/2007 respectively. These new notes are circulated along with the preceding denominations as an official currency. The new banknotes are distinguished by many technical specifications and security marks set according to the latest specifications in paper currency printing field.
