Dominion of Canada 25 Cents Shinplaster Banknote 1900 Britannia
Twenty-five cent Canadian bank notes are commonly referred to as shinplasters. They are the lowest denomination and the only fractional currency issued by The Dominion of Canada.

Description: The 1900 25 cents fractional note was redesigned from the last issue in 1870. This time Britannia wearing Corinthian helmet seated on a shield and holding the Trident of Neptune. Each of these notes has a slight brown tint and the back is still in green.Signature: J.C. Saunders – Deputy Minister of Finance.

Varieties: These 25 cent fractional currency notes can be signed by J.M. Courtney, T.C. Boville, or J.C. Saunders. Saunders notes are slightly rarer.
